How did you forget what you promised to do on the planet at this time? How did you misplace your purpose? You didn’t. You simply relocated from where it resides – inside your body!
When you were born, all was great. Mom was great. Dad was great. Then life got complicated. Mom was pre-occupied and couldn’t give you the attention or empathy you needed. Dad was angry and disgruntled about his life. Sis was born and took attention away from you. Whatever happened, it was too painful for you to experience. And so, you decided to take up residence in a safer place – that wonderful sub-division located outside your body.
Living inside your body was too painful – your body housed all the emotions (anger, sadness, disappointment, fear) which were the result of you not getting your needs met. Hence, you packed your bags, looked over your shoulder with a slight air of arrogance, and moved onward to a place where you wouldn’t have to feel. This seemed like a good idea at the time. You didn’t have to wallow in shame or fear. You could pick yourself up from your bootstraps and design the life you envisioned – free of pain and disappointment.
And now, you are trying to design your purposeful life in the same way. The only problem: remember that pain, sadness, and anger that was there before (when you moved to the neighborhood on the outskirts of your body), it’s still there. It is driving (and wrecking) your attempts to manifest your purpose.
The “persona” that you developed (good ‘ole “pick myself up from my bootstraps”) is in charge of finding your purpose and she doesn’t have a clue what it is. She left it behind when she immigrated from the land of feelings and emotions.
Now what?
The Bad News: When we fragment from our Self and set up shop outside our body, we begin to look for our purpose outside of us. We turn away from ourselves and search for our purpose elsewhere.
The Good News: by re-learning how to FEEL you move back into your body.
When you are firmly planted in your body, you will not be searching for your purpose. You will have all your answers.
